Biography
Julie Clayton has taught languages for 30 years including 21 Years as Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Chapel-en-le-Frith high school. Under her leadership the school has achieved excellent exam grades at GCSE. She has also worked as an exam moderator and exam marker so she knows exactly what the exam board are looking for from students.
She studied languages at Nottingham and Birmingham Universities where she obtained her honours degree. She then went on to teacher training. She taught at Sowerby Bridge High School before relocating and settling at Chapel High School.
She has experience of teaching years 7-13 both in the school setting and privately one to one. She has also taught language taster sessions to primary school students. Additionally, she has taught classes of adults from beginner level up to A level.
Her infectious passion for languages enthuses learners of all ages. She teaches French, German and Spanish up to A level and also some Latin and Ancient Greek to students who wish to understand the origins of modern languages. This provides a solid grounding to those wishing to go on to study at a higher level.
She lives in Buxton with her husband Mark, who tutors Maths (mbclayton.com) and her two dogs.
She has DBS clearance to work with children of all ages and is up to date with all safeguarding training.
She has full Public Liability Insurance.
